“All of the procedures we adhered to were designed to give us the maximum amount of time in the water. We had comfortable beds, good food, and great service. Most importantly, the crew and the boat delivered many great white sharks for our viewing pleasure.”

Doc Anes, owner of San Diego Shark Diving Expeditions, Inc., first visited Guadalupe Island looking for Great White Sharks in 1986 along with filmmaker Al Giddings, White Shark expert John McCosker, and Elephant Seal researcher Dr. Bernie LeBoufe of UC Santa Cruz.

Doc returned for two more exploratory Great White Shark Expeditions in 1994 and 2000.

2001 was the beginning of the current successful Great White Shark Expeditions departing out of San Diego. According to Doc, “We've had a phenomenal in-water sighting success of 100% since starting the Great White Shark trips with diving guests in '01.”
